Truly a tropical Jordan Rakei! Lo-fi R&B crafted by Bruno Berli, the genius singer-songwriter representing Aragão, Brazil, alongside his friends!! Undoubtedly the masterpiece of his career! Bruno Berli was born and raised in Maceió, the capital of the state of Aragão, located in northeastern Brazil. Together with his longtime friend Batata Boy, he honed his modern sensibilities and, with his 2022 debut album *NoReinoDosAfetos*—released on the prestigious UK label FarOutRecordings—successfully fused home-recorded MPB with acid folk. His reputation spread worldwide in the blink of an eye, and within Brazil, he began performing not only at major festivals but also sharing the stage with international acts like FKJ. He subsequently moved to São Paulo, and on his 2024 follow-up, *NoReinoDosAfetos2*, he collaborated with musicians like Domenico Lancelotti and Antônio Neves to pursue a dreamlike soundscape. True to his cited influences—Arthur Russell and Hiroshi Yoshimura—he pours his talent not only into his singing but also into arrangements and post-production as a singer-songwriter, and his circle has always been filled with friends. He is also widely active as a producer, having launched fellow Alagoas natives like Nylon Igor and Filipe Nunes Araújo through the label *FarOut*. Now, his latest work has arrived. Titled *SemFronteiras*—meaning “Beyond Borders”—this album was recorded not only in his hometown of Alagoas and his current base in São Paulo, but also in London and Germany. Co-produced with his long-time partner Batata Boy, this album sounds even more intimate than his previous works, expressing Bruno’s undeniable maturity in every detail. Starting with the opening track “VoceJaSabe,” featuring Nylon Igor as a duet partner, the first half features a lineup of fresh songs that emphasize blue-eyed soul and AOR influences. Meanwhile, starting with “Amor Inteiro” in the middle section, the album continues with songs rooted in his own heritage, ranging from powerful atabaca rhythms to quiet folk tracks like “Vim Dizer” and “Manha.” It is this duality that forms the very essence of this album’s identity. Supported by many friends, including Pedro Lacerda and Nina Maia, “SemFronteiras” showcases the current position of a genius at the very center of a trend that could be described as the modern street-corner club.
