Reissue of past masterpieces by Merjan Dede at a lower price! A deep world of "breath" released by a genius Sufi musician from Turkey! This is a reissue of the much-talked-about 2006 Rice Records release at a very affordable price. Merjan Dede is a ney (reed flute) player who plays traditional Islamic mystic (Sufi) music. He is a musician who plays a unique musical style based on traditional Turkish music, but passing through the filter of electronica and club jazz. He also performs under another name, "Alkin Allen," and his music has a stronger club flavor. In 2006, he visited Japan for an event called "Ramadan Nights" at Shibuya Bunkamura, where he collaborated with a swirling dance (semaar). Following "Naal (Fire)" and "Water (Water)," Meljean Dede released "Breath" (Breath). The album is based on his own ney, and features "breath" instruments such as clarinets and various guest singers' voices.The electronic sounds that pop up through the gaps between the ensemble of traditional Turkish instruments and the subtle dubs and club music tastes create a sophisticated sound. The miracle of Dedé's world is sure to enchant everyone, as if caught in a spiral of traditional and advanced sounds amidst a chill-out calm. This is a work of deep and sensual Sufi music that is unique to Dede, and will surely astonish you once again with its forward-thinking nature that makes it hard to believe that it was produced 17 years ago.
