The group became the group of the hour in the midst of the Beatles whirlwind with their #1 hit "Hang on Through Pea" in the U.S. in 1965, which catapulted them to stardom. Here comes the memorable first album that became Rick Dillinger's starting point. Fans of the group will be pleased to hear the debut single released on a local label added as a bonus track to this CD release. Excerpt from the CD description: ----- Although the band members, including Rick, were still teenage boys at the time, the McCoys stood out among the rock and roll groups that appeared like bamboo shoots after rain in the U.S. after the Beatles. Although he was idolized for his looks, Rick's sometimes dark vocals did not make him sound childish, and he was able to perform a diverse repertoire of R&B, folk rock, blues, rock 'n' roll, and pop songs, combined with a tightly integrated sound (in fact, in the beginning, the basic orchestration of the band was done by their production team). The band's sound, combined with their solid and cohesive sound (in fact, their production team had initially created the basic orchestra), set them apart from the so-called "garage bands," and in retrospect, may have foreshadowed their subsequent growth.The McCoys (the other members of which initially supported Johnny Winter along with Rick), who had a talent as a guitarist, and who later blossomed into a major rock artist, were the birthplace of Rick Dillinger.
