R.N.A. Organism, a unit that represents the early days of alternative music in Japan, has released a collection of previously unreleased mixes on 2LP! Finally awakening from a 40-plus year slumber, ....... Abstract and freaky, this is the definitive vinyl release, with a different aspect from the original version, revealing the whole story! In the midst of the never-ending COVID disaster, we present "Unaffected Mixes plus," a collection of previously unreleased mixes by R.N.A. Organism, a unit that is gaining momentum as a representative of Japan's post-punk era. The unit's only LP, "R.N.A.O Meets P.O.P.O." (Vanity 0006, 1980), featured super-cheap alternative dub using various gadgets against a background of urban aphorism and electro minimalism. It was described as "Japan's original mutant pop," etc., mainly overseas, and together with the reissue of Vanity's works, it became a hot topic.In 2020, the label released an unreleased mix collection "Unaffected Mixes" as a limited edition box set, and the long-awaited stand-alone release of the same work was revisited in the form of "Unaffected Mixes plus," which contains slightly different tracks. The definitive CD "Unaffected Mixes ±" (SPF-022) will also be released by φonon. One can tell from a first listen that the impression is quite different from that of Vanity's original LP. The unit's direction is more vividly expressed in these recordings, which were cut, pasted, and edited by the members/producers from many fragments recorded in the studio at the time and left on cassette tapes. Nevertheless, both are valuable records provided by a recipe that resonates with the world industrial sound that emerged in the late 70s and early 80s, and are also proverbs from an inorganic life form that mutated into mixed noise in the midst of the COVID vortex.
