This recording of Brahms and Martinů by the Tenshutt & Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra was suddenly released some time ago on the “Concept” label. The label itself is something of a mystery; despite announcements of future releases, it subsequently vanished without a trace, making this a truly peculiar recording that was apparently available only in Japan. This release is the result of ICACLASICCS securing an official licensing agreement, and the CD itself is labeled “First Release.” The overflowing pathos in the Brahms performance, along with the beautiful strings and the rich sound of the woodwinds, have been particularly highly praised, and the Martinů recording has also drawn attention for the rarity of the repertoire.
