Huckle (real name Kelly Cavanagh) was born in 1954 in Ontario, Canada, and moved to Gabriola Island, British Columbia in 1973, where he joined the Perth County Conspiracy (formed in 1969 by former Nine of the eleven songs on the first "Upon a Once Upon a Time" (this disc), released in 1974, were recorded live on March 19, 1974, after the sound check of the PCC concert. The remaining two songs were recorded live on Gabriola Island the next day. The songs are similar hippie-folk, but have a thicker roots-rock flavor than PCC's. This is because, more than anything else, Huckle's songs were recorded live at the time of Huckle's concert. The second day's recording, with the addition of a Celtic fiddle, has a roots-rock flavor, akin to that of Van Morrison. After two Canadian tours in the summer and fall of 1975, Huckle returned to Gabriola with Paul Gelman (piano, fiddle), who had also participated in the first tour, and the band
