Winner of three previous Grammy Awards. Leading contemporary blues artist Fantastic Negrito reimagines the songs from his latest Grammy-nominated 2022 album, White Jesus Black Problems, in an acoustic style. Three-time Grammy-winning singer/songwriter/musician/activist Xavier Dphrepaulezz, aka Fantastic Negrito, released his fourth album, White Jesus Black Problems, on June 3, 2022, on his label, Storefront Records on June 3, 2022. Inspired by his own research into his ancestry, the album "White Jesus Black Problems" has received critical acclaim. The song "Oh Betty" was nominated for "Best American Roots Performance" at the 65th Grammy Awards. After the release of the album, Fantastic Negrito came to Japan to perform at Asagiri JAM. They also performed solo.Grandfather Courage is an acoustic reworking of songs from White Jesus Black Problems. Xavier Dphrepaulezz, aka Fantastic Negrito, grew up in an orthodox Muslim family in Oakland, California. In 1993, he signed with Interscope and in 1995 released the album "The X Factor" under the name Xavier, but in 1999 he was seriously injured in a car accident and had to leave music. Xavier began performing on the streets of Oakland again in 2014, winning NPR's inaugural Tiny Desk Concert in 2015, and released his debut album under the name Fantastic Negrito, The Last Days of Oakland, in 2016, which won a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards. Contemporary Blues Album.The band continued to release albums consistently, with a second album, Please Don't Be Dead, in 2018, and a third album, Have You Lost Your Mind Yet? In June 2022, the band will release its fourth album, "White Jesus Black Problems," its most recent release to date. Currently, the song "Oh Betty" from the album is nominated for "Best American Roots Performance" at the 65th Grammy Awards. Fantastic Negrito has toured with artists ranging from Sturgill Simpson to Chris Cornell, played almost every major festival, collaborated with Sting, E-40, and others, and established his own label, Storefront He has collaborated with Sting, E-40, and others, and has also established his own label, Storefront Records.Furthermore, in addition to music, he is the founder of Revolution Plantation, an urban farm dedicated to the education and empowerment of youth.
