To commemorate Thundercat’s upcoming Japan tour, a limited-edition Japan-exclusive CD will be released to the general public A pivotal EP that served as a prelude to the classic album *Drunk* and gave birth to the signature track “Them Changes” Originally released digitally in June 2015 and named [BESTNEWMUSIC] by U.S. media outlet Pitchfork, the mini-album *The Beyond/Where the Giants Roam*—which was previously released in Japan as an Amazon Japan-exclusive CD—will now be available to the general public in a limited quantity to commemorate ThunderCat’s Japan tour! Flying Lotus co-produced half of the tracks on this album. Herbie Hancock appears on keyboards for “LoneWolf&Cub,” and the lineup features elite musicians from the Brainfeeder circle, including Kamasi Washington, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, and Mono/Poly. The album seamlessly traverses jazz, soul, funk, and electronica while exploring introspective themes of loneliness and loss. Highlighted by “ThemChanges”—later included on his seminal album *Drunk*—the release features six tracks distinguished by exceptional bass playing and ethereal vocals, plus a bonus track. Notably, “Life & Death” is a rare gem available exclusively on this CD, making it a must-have for fans. Thundercat’s latest release, *Distracted*, his first in six years, features an all-star lineup including A$AP Rocky, Lil Yachty, Tame Impala, Willow, and Channel Tres, as well as an unreleased collaboration with longtime ally Mac Miller.
