The first single, "There's A Moon On," straddles the line between the Pixies' signature roaring guitar and royal classic rock. The completed album is a mature yet intuitive mix of gruesome folk, ballroom pop, and violent rock, haunted by the ghosts of infidelity and debauchery and driven by the forces of the universe, envisioning an afterlife in the digital age that not even God Almighty could have imagined. We tried to make something incredibly grand, bold, and orchestrated.We really love playing punk-ish stuff, but we can't create those things artificially. There are other ways to do it, and we can use the super special power we are experiencing right now to accomplish other things." After the release of the album, the band will finally make their once postponed and cancelled tour of Japan this fall.
