The extended resonance produced by the supple, force-free bowing, the tone that does not become thin even in the upper register, the vividness of the attack... Müller-Schott's strengths are fully demonstrated in this performance, which draws you in.The dashing and superbly executed playing of the second movement of the Prokofiev is superb! The development from the 3rd movement of Britten to the 4th movement of Atacca is also wonderful, reminding us of the depth of expressive power that Müller-Schott possesses. The thick, lustrous sound of the bass gives Müller-Schott's performance even more depth, and the heavy sound that thunders deep into the body is superb. Daniel Müller-Schott, born in Munich in 1976, is a cellist of great talent who has attracted attention for his outstanding performance among the younger generation. In 1992, at the age of 15, he won the International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians, which brought him to prominence, and he has performed with such greats as Previn, the late Kreizberg, Haitink, Marriner, Ashkenazy, and many others.
