The fifth installment of Arar's highly acclaimed series! Including the very famous "Toccata in D minor, BWV 565" and a must-hear clavichord performance, this is the fifth installment of a major project by noted keyboardist Banjaman Arar to record all of J.S. Bach's keyboard works! The project is to record all of Bach's keyboard works by organ and harpsichord (in chronological order of composition). This time, works composed during Bach's Weimar period (1708-1717) are recorded. In Weimar, Bach was the musician of the court orchestra and the organist of the court chapel, and it was during this period that many of his organ works were written. Many of his works were written in the style of toccatas, full of virtuoso and improvisational elements, and the famous "Toccata in D minor, BWV 565" was also written during this period. One of the highlights of this year's concert is the appearance of the clavichord. For example, in the prelude to BWV 895, Allard's improvisational, song-filled, and precise atmosphere is strangely enhanced by the simple and warm tone of the clavichord.The grand and majestic organ, the charming and eloquent harpsichord, and the uniquely delicate clavichord, Allard's skill in capturing and playing the characteristics of all three instruments is admirable. The next work in the series will be the first volume of the Mean Clavier Works. The next volume in the series will be the first volume of the Mean Square Clavier Works, which will be released in the near future. Born in Rouen, France in 1985, Arard won the Bruges International Competition for Old Music in 2004 at the age of 18, a gateway to success in old music performance.
