Go Yamamoto Trio's new project is a reunion session with engineer Yoshihiko Kannari, who revolutionized the jazz sound as the exclusive engineer for the legendary Japanese jazz label "Three Blind Mice" in the 1970s! The recording technique of miking instruments close to the limit to the source of tone and being willing to take peaks is still alive and well. Mastering is handled by Sony Music Studio, a company that has reissued over 70 TBM titles since 2012 and is well versed in the sound of the TBM reissue series. The sound that emerges is either a recreation of those days or the maturity of half a century. The liner notes include a recording set diagram handwritten by Mr. Kaminari, a well-known feature for TBM fans! This LP, Vol. 1, features a wide variety of songs, including the classic "Misty," ballads such as "I'm Glad There is You," the Latin "Breeze and Me," and up-tempo songs. The album is rich in variations.
