Formed in 2020 by four members who have shared a strong bond since their school days, the Swedish progressive metalcore band Allt. The band has garnered attention for its epic productions that blend visuals and music, its storytelling, and a sound that brings an innovative approach to metalcore. The band name “Allt” means “everything” in Swedish and reflects their philosophy of creating music inspired by the world around them, without being confined by genre boundaries.
Their critically acclaimed debut album, *From The New World* (2024), was set in a fictional post-apocalyptic world and depicted societal collapse, survival, and the human condition. In July 2026, the band will release their highly anticipated second album, *Ataraxia*.
“Ataraxia” is a philosophical term, first proposed by the ancient Greek philosopher Epicurus and others, referring to a “state of mental tranquility” free from worry and suffering. Regarding this album, the band stated, “We wanted to write songs not from an ideal place, but from the place where we actually live. While this album depicts a journey in search of peace, it also portrays the inner conflicts that run counter to that peace. I think everyone has experienced moments when, even though they know what’s best for them, they find themselves being pulled in the opposite direction deep down inside. That very conflict is the central theme in the songwriting for this album.”
Ahead of the album’s release, Allt has unveiled their new song (7), “Snowblind.” As a lead track from *Ataraxia*, this song—with its sound that strikes a balance between deep emotion and restraint—confirms the band’s evolution.
While Robin Malmgren made a strong impression with his intense growls on the debut album, his further refined expressiveness and vocal prowess are key elements on this release. The new creative direction showcased in the unplugged versions included on the deluxe edition of *From The New World* (released in 2025) is clearly reflected in this album as well. Robin’s clean vocals, heard in tracks like (3) “Never Mind” and (4) “Enemy,” lend the songs a sense of scale and depth.
*Ataraxia*, an album that symbolizes the band’s current state, is grounded in a musicality rooted in reality. Every moment—from the tragedies, relationships, exhaustion, longings, relapses, and moments of clarity that the members themselves have experienced in life—is projected onto this album.
*Ataraxia* is an album that pursues “peace of mind,” something that is not easily attained. It speaks to the listener, suggesting that this is not something given by others, but something one must seize for oneself. For Allt, this marks the completion of their most intimate, human, and sincere work to date.
