Ruggiero Ricci was known for his astonishing virtuosity, and his work on Paganini's Caprices and concertos made him a Decca artist in the early LP era. 10 years later he began recording for Decca America, and by 1970 had made 9 albums of solo, recital, and concerto music. albums of solos, recitals, and concertos. Having already recorded Bach's unaccompanied sonatas and partitas, he made his first complete recording for Decca America in 1967, which was hailed by Gramophone magazine as "the very best performance. The focus was also on the rare violin, with Vivaldi's Four Seasons performed entirely by a Stradivarius ensemble, and excerpts from Bruch's Concerto No. 1 performed by 15 different violins on the album "The Glory of Cremona". This album is the world's first CD release.Bravula!", an album of challenging works by Paganini, Wieniawski, and Ernst, and "Violin Plus 1" with soprano Lee Venora, harpist Gloria Agostini, and violinist David Nadien, are also available on CD for the first time. This is the first CD release of the album. The booklet includes an interview by Victor Alexander with Ruggiero Ricci about the Kreisler recording, liner notes by Tully Potter, and more.
