Hot Latin blood electrifies the traditional New Year's Concert! A waltz and polka feast as if reborn! The Vienna Philharmonic's New Year's Concert is held every year on January 1. The concert, which began in 1939 and boasts a history of more than 75 years, features a program of waltzes and polkas by the Strauss family, the symbol of Vienna as the city of music, and the New Year's Concert of the Vienna Philharmonic. In 2017, Gustavo Dudamel, the most promising conductor of the moment from Venezuela, will make his first appearance.When he was approached by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra on the phone to appear, he "danced, shouted, and rejoiced" (Andreas Grossbauer, orchestra director) and was very enthusiastic about his first appearance. In addition to the standard favorites such as "The Blue Danube" and "Racoczi March," the program was selected to commemorate the 175th anniversary of the founding of the Vienna Philharmonic, the 300th anniversary of the birth of Empress Maria Theresa, and other anniversaries, as well as to suit Dudamel's personality. The program includes eight pieces that are appearing for the first time at the New Year's Concert, and they have a fresh flavor (it is also surprising that famous pieces such as Waldteufel's "People Skating" are appearing for the first time). The participation of the Vienna Musikverein Chorus is also a rarity. The crisp video and audio give the audience the luxury of enjoying a live musical feast in the golden halls of the Vienna Musikverein, beautifully decorated with many flowers.＜Gustavo Dudamel was born in Venezuela in 1981. He received his musical education at El Sistema, conducted his first orchestra at the age of 12, and became Music Director of the Simón Bolívar Youth Orchestra at 18.
