In the next generation of the UK indie/alterna scene, which is gaining momentum with the arrival of Black Midi, who made their shocking debut in 2019, and Squid, who was selected for the BBC's "Sound of 2020", North London newcomers Thorley, who have long been highly touted, have finally made their debut album "925" on Domino! Domino", and has now released his debut album "925"! The album features 13 tracks, including the singles "Right Round TheClock" and "Rock 'n' Roll Star," which have already captivated early listeners, and "More," whose music video was directed by filmmaker/photographer Jasper Cable Alexander, With James Dring, known for his work with Gorillaz and Jamie T, as co-producer, the album draws inspiration from everything from Herman Hesse to Aphex Twin to old-school crooner Tony Bennett, creating a unique world where discomfort can be found in the comfort of the melody. The result is a unique worldview that is at once pleasant to listen to and uncomfortable to listen to.This work, filled with their experimental approach and open mindedness to different genres, will no doubt be one that cements their status as true originals and genre-transcending innovators for 2020 and beyond.
