Historic Performances Revived with Realistic Digital Remastering! This is the first in a new series of remasters by the Mengelberg Society. The remastering by pianist Jochem Henne is very elaborate. The most noticeable noises have been removed by hand in order to make the sound source more comfortable, while pseudo-stereo has been achieved by using digital technology that reflects the latest research results. This is an idea that only a performer who knows the hall well could have come up with. To remind the listener that the sound of the Concertgebouw Hall, where Mengelberg conducted for half a century, was in fact characterized by very rich indirect sound, Jochem Höhne's Studio van Suuppen has used a reverb company, the leading reverb company in the world. The new algorithm is being developed in cooperation with engineers from the American high-end audio brand Bricasti.
