Description:

An Ode to Romanticism and Chanson Chanson with the luscious tones of Hushnure and Lee Giardini French violin virtuoso Pierre Fouchenré and the up-and-coming young ensemble Lee Giardini have released an album of works by Ernest Chausson titled "The Season of the Lilas (Lilacs) in Bloom. The Concert, one of Chausson's most famous works, is an unusual composition for violin, piano, and string quartet, and was described at its premiere in Brussels in 1892 as "the most important and interesting work of any music of recent years," and is a unique musical creation that draws from the influence of the German Romanticism that was popular in France at the time and from his devotion to Wagner. The Concert was a sextet, a unique musical form. The Concerto Grosso is a work reminiscent of the Concerto Grosso, but with a sextet structure and influences from the music of Rameau and Couperin. Chausson is known for his "Poems. This work, loved by violinists of the past, is a masterpiece among masterpieces that is also loved by today's performers. This recording features Chausson's own arrangement and is performed with the same orchestration as the Concerto. The violin played by Fouchenré has a sweet tone reminiscent of Grumiaux. A new masterpiece of this work has been born. The album closes with Barbara's "Season of the Lilas in Bloom". Barbara (1930-1997) was one of the most famous chanson singers, lyricists, and composers of the 20th century. A charismatic singer whose live performances were always sold out and difficult to obtain, she attracted a large audience. This work is one of Barbara's masterpieces. Pauline Buet, cellist and singer, a member of I Giardini, sings it delicately with her beautiful voice. PENTATONE
