Master luthier Jacob Lindberg weaves together a collection of gems from the golden age of the Italian Renaissance with lute works by composers such as Francesco da Milano, who flourished during the Italian Renaissance. Lute virtuoso Jacob Lindberg has recorded some of the greatest lute works by Francesco da Milano and other composers active during the Italian Renaissance. Da Milano was a lutenist in the service of the papacy who left many lute pieces and lute arrangements of polyphonic choral music during the Renaissance, laying the foundation for the rise of lute music in many European countries. Dall'Aquila was a lutenist and composer active in Venice. He is said to have played an important role in the search for and dissemination of sound patterns and resonances suitable for the lute during the transitional period from the end of the Middle Ages to the mature style of the Renaissance, laying the foundation for the lute's subsequent prosperity over the next 200 years or so. The virtuoso Lindberg will perform these gem lute works in soft tones. King International
