This is a masterpiece instrumental album released in 1971 on King Records, packed with samples used by A.T.C.Q., Main Source, Brand Nubian, and others! Produced in 1971—the same year as “Sex Machine” and “Super Bad”—this album features arrangements by the genius David Matthews. It delivers the ultimate in funk with a strong psychedelic vibe, featuring heavy use of fuzz guitar and organ! TR-1 offers a bluesy sound over a heavy, downtempo groove; TR-2 is an upbeat track bursting with JB funk; TR-3, which delivers funky soul that would put Booker T to shame; TR-4, featuring psychedelic sounds layered over mind-blowing breakbeats; TR-5, also known as a Main Source sample; and TR-6, a sample for A.T.C.Q. and Brand Nubian—every track is a masterpiece! It’s a fantastic album with a unique atmosphere reminiscent of Dennis Coffey and David Axelrod!
