Description:
Tubby Hayes, the greatest hard bop saxophonist produced by the British modern jazz scene, has a completely unreleased album miraculously unearthed after half a century! Despite leading the British jazz scene in the 1950s and 60s, Tubby Hayes passed away at the young age of 38 in 1973. This is a precious recording made in 1969, two years after his acclaimed masterpiece Mexican Green, with his regular quartet. The lacquer was cut in 1967 using a beautifully restored Haeco Scully Lathe with a Westrex (Western Electric) head and cutting amplifier.
