Description:

Bobby Keyes (December 18, 1943 - December 2, 2014) was a saxophonist born in Slaton, Lubbock County, Texas. He taught himself to play the saxophone because he could not read music, and at age 14 he met fellow Lubbock native Buddy Holly and saxophonist King Curtis; in 1964 he met the Rolling Stones at a concert in San Antonio and, along with trumpeter Jim Price, joined the group on its 1969 He joined the tour and recorded several Stones albums, including "Let It Bleed" in 1969, "Sticky Fingers" in 1971, and "Exile on Main Street" in 1972. His famous saxophone chorus on the very famous song "Brown Sugar" is considered his most important contribution.
