An album that lets you fully enjoy the charm of the viola Vansiane Béranger is a female violist who was a member of the Manfred Quartet from 2003 to 2008. Passionate about promoting the appeal of the viola—whether in solo or ensemble settings—she has poured her heart into this album. Rebecca Clarke (1886–1979) was a British composer. As she was also an active violist herself, her works for viola—particularly her sonatas—have been widely performed in recent years. This album brings together her compositions for solo viola. A highlight is “Irish Melody,” a duet for viola and cello. Long thought to be lost, a manuscript was discovered in recent years, leading to its world premiere recording here. Comprising “Farewell, Cuckleyn” and “The Song of Londonderry,” the piece fully showcases the charm of the viola and cello. The presence of renowned Romanian pianist Dana Cocalarie on the piano adds a touch of luxury to the recording. King International
