Six years after its launch in 2017, the "SEIKO JAZZ" series, which presented a new appeal for Seiko Matsuda, has been released in the United States on the prestigious jazz label Verve and won the 59th Japan Record Award for Best Planning. This third album in the series was produced by Nathan East, the world's top bassist who has produced and arranged many Grammy award-winning albums, through an introduction by Quincy Jones. The album was produced at two locations, LA and Tokyo, with some of the world's best players, and covers Seiko Matsuda's beloved hit numbers with superb jazz arrangements. For the first time in this series, a jazz-arranged self-cover of her signature song "Akai Sweet Pea" is also included. Grammy Award-winning saxophone player Kenny G is featured on this album, giving a new, more urban feel to a classic song that has become a symbol of the times. In his 43rd year as a national star, he has led an extraordinary life as an artist. SEIKO JAZZ 3", created with the "human power" she has cultivated through her career, presents the maturity of the series with a mellow and delicate sound, and is filled with jazz that can only be sung by Seiko Matsuda today. The new album will be released in the U.S. on Verve Records, and is sure to convey the "joy of jazz" not only to jazz fans and Seiko fans, but also to music fans around the world.The Limited First Edition B is a high-quality SHM-CD with all instrumentals on Disc 2 and a special DVD on Disc 3, which also includes an LP-size jacket, a 4-sided LP-size oversized poster and an LP-size booklet.
