Description:
Onihei BOX / Animation
The 50th anniversary of Shotaro Ikenami's novel "Onihei Hankacho" is commemorated with this much-talked-about work! One of Japan's most exciting historical dramas is now available as a cool animation! The time is the late Edo period. The bandits, who were at the height of their tyranny, were in awe of a man they called "Oni" (devil). He is Heizo Hasegawa, the "Oni no Heizo," or the "Firebrand Thief Reformer. The hitsuitsuke tsuzoku araimetakata is a kind of special police force. It is a highly mobile organization that not only controls crimes in and out of Edo, but can also go to other countries to catch criminals. Heizo, however, is not just a hard man who is loyal to his duties. He sometimes shows mercy to those who have committed crimes. What Heizo does not tolerate is inhumanity. He does not tolerate those who deviate from the "Three Articles of a Thief"-never kill, never commit a crime, and never steal from a store that would go under if it were stolen- and who defy the ways of humanity. He is a man who is full of manliness and humanity, and attracts people with his resolute yet somehow sexy appearance. Heizo and the quirky characters that surround him drive out and crush the inhumanity that infests Edo. 13 episodes in total.4-disc set consisting of 3 full-length DVD discs + 1 bonus CD (original soundtrack CD). Booklet enclosed. Outer case newly written by director Shigeyuki Miya.
