First album by saxophonist Soki Miyakoshi. It contains 13 pieces, including the title piece, "Egao wa,,, Music wo Kanaderu" by Daisuke Shimizu, "Sakura no Uta" by Yosuke Fukuda, "Vacance" by Jean-Michel Damaas, "Seagull" by Toshio Majima, and many more. You will be enchanted by Soki Miyakoshi's brilliant saxophone music. Born in Toma-cho, Kamikawa-gun, Hokkaido. He started playing saxophone in a brass band in junior high school. After graduating from Showa University of Music, he worked for a major newspaper company and later joined the Maritime Self-Defense Force, where he was assigned to the Tokyo Band. Performs more than 100 times a year, including performances. In 1987, he circumnavigated the northern hemisphere, and has performed in 30 cities in 20 countries, including the U.S., Canada, England, Norway, Germany, France, Spain, Switzerland, and Egypt, to promote international goodwill. He has performed in 30 cities in 20 countries around the world.In 2005, he participated in an exchange mission with the U.S. Navy Band. One week after the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011, he was assigned to the Ominato Band in Aomori Prefecture. For about two years, he supported reconstruction efforts and performed as a consolation for the victims of the earthquake. After that, he was assigned to the Sasebo Band in Nagasaki Prefecture and the Kure Band in Hiroshima Prefecture. He has performed in various regions and trained younger musicians. He has served as concertmaster of the Tokyo Band, inspector of the Tokyo Band, and concertmaster of the Kure Band, as well as band master of his own jazz combo, "Navy Blues," performing at receptions, events, and educational sites. During his tenure, he also gave a recital at the Tokyo Opera City Recital Hall and presided over the "Reeds' Hibiki Ensemble. He gave recitals at "Mutsurai Samai-kan" in Aomori Prefecture and "Arcus Sasebo" in Nagasaki Prefecture. After retiring in 2022, he became a freelance saxophonist, giving genre-defying performances and teaching younger musicians.Studied classical saxophone under D. Defaye, J.M. Londex, Arata Sakaguchi, Yuichi Omuro, Keiji Munesada, and Hiroshi Morita, jazz saxophone under J. Concepcion, Marta and Satoshi Hirahara, and composition and arrangement under Kazuhiro Morita and Toshio Majima. He is a member of the Japan Band Instructors Association and the International Military Music Society.
