Wittmann presents a string feast of luminous magic and profound lamentation Jörg Wittmann, conductor, composer, and clarinetist, presents an album of works for string orchestra. The single-movement Symphony No. 10, composed by Mendelssohn when he was only 14 years old, was written under the guidance of his teacher Zalter in the manner of the classical school of a century ago, and is a lilting, free masterpiece with a unique sound that is both steeped in tradition and filled with youthful curiosity. Inspired by Baudelaire's "Lamentation of Icarus," Wittmann's work, written in 1999, is a sound painting that uses air as a medium between the heights represented by the violin's flageolet and the depths of the earth represented by the low strings, dramatizing the instability of the myth of Icarus, the artist's solitude and suffering, and its transcendence A layered depiction. Korngold's "Symphonic Serenade" is filled with personal affection for his wife, dreams of Mahler and Berg's or imagined Vienna, and a vision of the future, a beauty that Wittmann describes as "a masterpiece full of sparkling magic. With the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, which was founded by Karl Münchinger in 1945 and has since then performed baroque music and contemporary works with both tradition and innovation, Wittmann weaves a story of talent and innovation in music history, an artist's inner search, and timeless beauty and nostalgia through his multifaceted artistic perspective, Wittmann weaves a story of timeless beauty and nostalgia through his multifaceted artistic perspective.
