This is the second release from Tower Records' MIRAGE label, a compilation series based on the concept of "bringing jazz into your daily life. The music is divided into four themes: sunny, cloudy, rainy, and rainbow, with a selection of jazz masterpieces that match the image of each theme. Sunny" is an upper swing song, "Cloudy" is a little blue, "Rainy" is a quiet ballad, and "Rainbow" features colorful strings. Performers include John Coltrane, Cannonball Adderley, Bill Evans, Miles Davis, Horace Silver, Wynton Kelly, Oscar Peterson, and others. Sound sources are from prestigious labels (Blue Note, Prestige, Riverside, Verve, etc.). Each disc includes Disc 1: Sunny day(Sunny day)On a sunny day, everyone is happy, and the mood is invigorating.Included are Horace Silver's cheerful classic "The Preacher," John Coltrane's rare Latin-inspired standard "Tea for Two," and Bill Evans' "Peace Peace Peace," which conjures up images of clear blue skies. Cloudy day(Cloudy day)Cloudy day is a blues day, and the atmosphere is great. It includes Cannonball Adderley's minor blues "One for Daddy O", Jimmy Smith's organ roaring blue on "Bram Nelly", and Miles Davis's classic blues number "All Blues" which is over 11 minutes long.Disc3: Rainy Day ) On a rainy day, stay home and relax. The song includes "Make the Man Love Me," a ballad with Wynton Kelly on piano, "But Not for Me," a Gershwin number with Kenny Burrell's guitar solo, and "Every Time We Say Goodbye," a romantic ballad with Oscar Peterson on piano. Disc 4: Rainbow(in the sky)(Rainbow)After the rain, a rainbow spreads in the sky.A bridge to tomorrow. The album includes tracks by Cannonball Adderley, Clifford Brown, Stan Getz, Charlie Parker, Chet Baker, and others, all of whom deliver fluid solos backed by a vibrant string sound. The last number is Judy Garland's famous "Over the Rainbow" from the movie "The Wizard of Oz.
