Description:

<Junko Urayama (Piano)>Junko Urayama was born in Koriyama and raised in Sendai, Japan, where she began playing the piano at the age of four. In 1996, he made his debut in London at the prestigious Wigmore Hall. In 2002, she performed the Grieg Piano Concerto with the Philharmonia Orchestra under the baton of Vladimir "Ashkenazy" Grieg, which was a great success, and was invited back to the Philharmonia Orchestra to perform at the Chichester Music Festival in the same year. After returning to Japan in 2005 and making his debut at the Oji Hall in Ginza, he has been performing in a variety of venues throughout Japan as an artist in Steinway Japan's "Young Virtuoso Series". In addition, she has performed chamber music with members of the NHK Symphony Orchestra and has been active in charity activities for education and "welfare" in Japan and abroad. In 2009, she started a recital series, "Invitation to a Journey of the Heart," which attracted attention for its original project featuring Toshio Kashiwagi's piano suite, "Freaky Paraphrases from Basho's Narrow Road to the Deep North," inspired by the "Narrow Road to the Deep North. In 2002, she began the Hamarikyu Asahi Hall recital series, "The World of Chopin & Rachmaninoff" (4 recitals), which follows the lives of Chopin and Rachmaninoff, composers who have become synonymous with her. In conjunction with this series, he released "Concertos Concertos" (Chopin: Piano Concerto No. 1 & Rachmaninoff: Piano Concerto No. 2, conducted by Kazufumi Yamashita with the Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra), which was well received. He has released three CDs so far: "Piano Recital" (2003), "Fantasie" (2005), and "Soiree" (2007), all from "Symphonica Records" in the UK, "VOYAGE" (2012), "Concertos Concertos" (2014), and his sixth CD, "Serce" (2005), from Sony Music Direct. In 2005, he released his sixth CD, "Serce Seltze," from Sony Music Direct. Studied with Shigeru Asano, Yoko Okumura, Kazuko Yasukawa, Anjay Stefanski, and Sramita Aronofsky. Steinway Artist. (2/2)
