Description:

A collection of works by Noriyasu Tanaka, a composer highly acclaimed internationally, particularly for his chamber music. Beginning with “Scenes of Sound”—notable for its lustrous string tones rich in resonance—the seven new pieces composed since 2010 all create refreshing sonic spaces defined by his distinctive sensibility. This second album explores new territory through diverse ensemble configurations—including works that incorporate electronics alongside traditional acoustic sounds, as well as a trio featuring traditional Japanese instruments. The performances by the ensemble, led by German violinist Keckert, are outstanding. Noriyasu Tanaka Born in Tokyo. After attending the High School Affiliated with the Kunitachi College of Music, he graduated from the Kunitachi College of Music with degrees in composition and instrumental music (organ). His works have been broadcast on NHK-FM and by media outlets in the United States and South Korea, and have been performed not only in Japan but also at music festivals in Germany (Berlin, Bonn, Wasserburg), Austria (Vienna, Salzburg), France (Paris), the Nordic countries (Copenhagen, Oslo), Belgium (Antwerp, Leuven), South Korea (Seoul, Daegu, Masan), the United States (New York), and Mexico (Mexico City, Morelia), performed by renowned artists. The Austrian label VMM (Vienna Modern Masters) released two albums in 1994 as a chamber music collection (Noriyasu Tanaka: Chamber Music): Vol. I (VMM2011) and Vol. II (VMM2036) in 2002, respectively. Additionally, in 2001, the ensemble work “Darkness,” a collaboration with South Korean composers and poet Lee Seung-soon featuring traditional Korean instruments, was released on CD (in South Korea). In 2011, the album *Works of Noriyasu Tanaka* (ALCD-87, recommended by the *Asahi Shimbun*), featuring representative chamber music works from those released between 2002 and 2009, was released on CD by ALMRECORDS in February 2011; the tracks *Twilight* and and were published as sheet music by Mother Earth around the same time. For this CD release, new recordings were made in Japan and Berlin, featuring not only works with traditional instrumentations but also pieces incorporating electronics, as well as a trio piece based on gagaku. We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.
