Frankie Cosmos, an indie-pop band by Greta Klein, whose first album with Sub Pop, "Vessel," was also well received. Frankie Cosmos is the solo project of singer/songwriter Greta Kline ("Greta Kline"), and the band's fourth album, "Close It Quietly," was released with Gabe Wax (Beirut, Sucker Mommy, Adrian Renker, etc.) as co-producer/engineer. Frankie Cosmos is the solo project of singer/songwriter Greta Kline ( Greta Kline). She was born in New York City in 1994, the daughter of Oscar-winning actor Kevin Kline and actress Phoebe Cates. In 2011, she launched Frankie Cosmos. Frankie Cosmos" is a term coined by her boyfriend Aaron Maine, a member of the synth-pop band Porches, who also plays drums in Frankie Cosmos. Frankie Cosmos self-released their debut album, Zentropy, in 2014 to positive reviews, including an 8.0/10 on Pitchfork. In 2016, the band released its second album, "Next Thing," on Bayonet Records. The album was also named Best New Music by Pitchfork and received an 8.5/10 review. It also ranked on Billboard's Indie Albums Chart and Heatseekers Chart, and was named one of the year's best albums by Pitchfork, Consequence of Sound, Paste, The Skinny, Stereogum, and others.The band then moved to Sub Pop and released their third album, "Vessel," in March 2018; the album received 8/10 reviews on Crack, 4/5 on Q, and 8/10 on Uncut.
