Enjoy the best of the ensemble Trio Vandaller's exquisitely paced Haydn!The latest 2018 release from Trio Vandaller, a leading piano trio formed in 1987, is now available. Haydn left some 45 piano trios. At the time, piano trios were very popular among amateur musicians, and one of the reasons Haydn left so many works is that publishing scores for piano trios was expected to bring in a lot of sales. In Haydn's trios, the piano plays a leading role, and the strings are basically in charge of harmony and other compositional elements, but as one would expect from Haydn, the violin and cello are also given opportunities to show off their talents at key points, and the dialogue between the instruments is also fascinating. No. 27 was published in October 1789 as a single work, No. 32 in November 1794 (a set of three pieces from Nos. 32-34), No. 35 in 1795 (three pieces from Nos. 35-37), and No. 40 in 1795 (three pieces from Nos. 38-40). No. 41 was composed after his return from England to Vienna in August 1795 (published in 1803). The Trio Vandaler's performance is a perfect match between Vincent Koch's sparkling touch on the piano and the sometimes hot, sometimes cool dialogue between the two string players, with excellent pauses at turns of phrase and at rests.This is a performance that will allow you to fully enjoy the thrill of the ensemble, and at the same time, you will be surprised again by Haydn's ingenuity.
