Description:

Nämé Järvi is going ahead at breakneck speed! Richard Strauss's "The Legend of Joseph"! Estonian maestro Nämé Järvi has been releasing recordings at an unprecedented pace with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra (RSNO), the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, and the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra. The new recording with RSNO, a close friend of Järvi since the early days of Chandos, is the ballet music "The Legend of Joseph" by Richard Strauss (1864-1949), a late German romantic, who is still fresh in our memories from his smash hit "Overtures & Marches" (CHSA 5110). Strauss' ballet music "The Legend of Joseph" is based on the story of Joseph in Genesis 39 of the Old Testament. In 1996, Nämé Järvi choreographed the Detroit Symphony Orchestra to record the symphonic section (Op.64a) of "Joseph's Legend" for Chandos, and this is the long-awaited recording of the complete work by the master musician who has recorded many Strauss works. The coupling "Festive March, Op.1" is the first orchestral work to be published, and was written by Strauss when he was 12 years old! Neme Järvi and RSNO.The combination of the dynamic Järvi sound, song selection, and the combination that has been cultivated over the years is sure to heat up the audience again! Tokyo M-Plus
