As an artist breaking new ground at the intersection of jazz, classical, and world music, he has deeply moved audiences around the world with his unique American expression. However, Christian himself was deeply affected last year when the U.S. State Department invited him to Montenegro and war-torn Ukraine. These events and other recent developments in the violinist's career and personal life are the fourth in a series of works that have led Howes, a native of Ohio, to call for a renewed discussion of American pride.
