Queen Murova to Perform Vivaldi at ONYX Victoria Mullova, the queen of the violin world who captivated Japan and the world with her performance of "Alice in the Land of Mirrors," will appear at ONYX with the prestigious Italian classical music ensemble, Il Giardino armonico! In this first ONYX concert, she will perform a collection of Vivaldi's masterpiece violin concertos in a superb collaboration with Il Giardino armonico. In Japan, Mullova is often highlighted for her hit "Alice in Mirrorland," but in 1980 she won the first prize at the Sibelius Competition in Helsinki, and in 1982 she won the first prize at the Tchaikovsky Competition. She also won the first prize at the International Tchaikovsky Competition in 1982. She has a broad repertoire that covers everything from Bach to contemporary music, and she also performs with jazz musicians.In this one, Mullova's unique sharp-edged and precise approach makes you feel the charm of classical music. Incidentally, her husband is cellist Matthew Burley, who gave a wonderful performance in "The Silver Swan" (BBM 1068) released on BlackBox.
