This is the 61st release in the De Haske Festival Series, a genre-independent collection of new music ranging from classical arrangements and originals to pop music. The opening piece, "Golden Jubilation" by Kyoji Yagisawa, was composed as a commission for the 50th Anniversary Regular Concert of the Brass Band of the Meiden High School of Aichi Institute of Technology." The composer was asked to write a two-minute fanfare that would be used for the opening of every concert, and that would be full of pomp and speed. Also included is "March-Chagu-Chagu" by Kyoji Yagisawa. March-Chagu-Chagu" is a commemorative march for the "2016 Hope Township Iwate National Athletic Meet" and was first performed in February 2016 under his direction. Composed entirely from the theme of the Iwate folk song "Chagu Chagu Umakko," it is characterized by its familiar melody and lively rhythm.The album also includes new works by Philip Spark and Jan van der Roost, as well as a brass band medley from the much-talked-about film "La La Land," which was released in 2016 and won numerous awards, including the Golden Globe and Academy Awards, and pop works such as "Star Wars. This album is sure to be useful for a wide range of music selections, from concerts to small mini-concerts.
