Bach reproduced on the fortepiano Zilberman 1749 that Bach would have played! Most of Bach's keyboard works were written for organ or harpsichord, but in later years Bach also played the piano (fortepiano), which was just being developed at the time. This album features Bach's works from the 1730s and 1740s on a fortepiano made in 1749 by Gottfried Silbermann (1683-1753), who had a close relationship with Bach, as he used it to improvise in front of King Frederick II of Prussia (no restoration or other details available at this time). The works of Bach from the 1730s to 1740s are played on a fortepiano made by Toby Sermeus (1683-1753) in 1749. Toby Sermeus is a piano & harpsichordist living in Brussels, Belgium, often using his own instruments, the Pleyel (1854) and the Erard (1899), as a soloist and chamber musician, playing, studying, and exploring the harpsichord and historical piano repertoire He is a pianist and harpsichordist.
