French Baroque revived by the wunderkind of Hungarian old music, Jiří Vázséj! Vashej & Orfeo Orchestra present their fourth Rameau recording, "Dardanus"! Jyrgi Vashej, the wunderkind of Hungarian old music who has been enriching Glossa's French Baroque recordings on behalf of Hervé Nichet, and Orfeo Orchestra & Purcell Choir, have continued to record at an astonishing pace since joining Glossa. The new project is Jean-Philippe Rameau's lyric tragedy (tragedy lyric) "Dardanius". The work was first performed at the Paris Opera in 1739, but was not a great success due to the weakness of the drama. Rameau and La Bruère completely revised the last three acts and revived it in 1944 with a stronger tragic drama, and when it was revived in 1760, it was hailed as one of Rameau's greatest works.The Orfeo Orchestra, led by concertmaster Simon Standage, a master of the ancient music world, will give a spectacular orchestral performance (including the famous "Chaconne").
