Andres Orozco-Estrada, Houston Symphony Orchestra

Description:

Orozco-Estrada passionately performs "Music of America" with his hand-picked Houston Symphony Orchestra! Andres Orozco-Estrada is one of the most promising young conductors of our time. While his recordings of Dvorak's symphonies with the Houston Symphony Orchestra have garnered much attention, his new recordings in January and February 2017 are "American Music," featuring works by Reboultas, Bernstein, Piazzolla, and Gershwin. Andrés Orozco-Estrada was born in 1977 in Colombia, South America, and moved to Vienna to study conducting at the age of 19. he served as principal conductor of the Wiener Tonkünstlerorchester from 2009 to 2015, and since the 2014/15 season as hr Symphony Orchestra and Houston Symphony Orchestra He has been Music Director of the hr Symphony Orchestra and the Houston Symphony Orchestra since the 2014/15 season, and is one of the most sought-after young conductors as of 2018.The young maestro's fresh interpretations of the Houston Symphony Orchestra, while maintaining the traditions of the orchestra through careful rehearsals and a deep relationship of trust with the historic Houston Symphony Orchestra, are passionately performed in this recording, as is Orozco-Estrada's passionate performance. The young maestro breathes new life into the Houston Symphony Orchestra, which has won international acclaim under such principal conductors as Stokowski, Barbirolli, Previn, and Eschenbach. Born in Mexico, Rebuertas graduated from the National Conservatory of Music in Mexico, studied violin and composition in Chicago, and later worked as a concertmaster in Texas and as a conductor in his native country. He was a member of the Republican Volunteer Army during the Spanish Civil War and returned to Mexico after the war, but his last days were spent in poverty and alcoholism, and he died suddenly at the age of 41. His most famous work is "Sensemaya," based on a poem by Nicholas Guillén. The rhythm is lively and wild, with a Mexican flavor. King International
