The Electric Light Orchestra's 1974 album "Eldorado" reached a high of #16 on November 9, 1974, becoming ELO's first gold disc in the U.S. within one week of its release. It became a million-seller within a week of its release, and was ELO's first gold disc in the United States. Not only was it a commercial success, but it also fully realized Jeff Lynne's talent in terms of content and established the ELO sound. The total album, which tells the story of a wanderer's journey to a golden land (El Dorado), can be listened to as a stand-alone pop hit, which gives a sense of the group's breadth and depth. The single "Can't Get It Out of My Head" reached a high of No. 9 on January 25, 1975, and was their first Top 10 single in the United States.
