Theo Gheorghiu, one of Switzerland's hottest pianists, goes back to his roots to record Enescu's "Romanian Rhapsody No. 1" and more! Swiss pianist Theo Gheorghiu, born in Zurich in 1992, made his concert debut in 2004 with Schumann's Piano Concerto, and in the same year he won the San Marino International Piano Competition, the Franz Liszt Piano Competition, the San Marino International Piano Competition, the San Marino International Piano Competition, the San Marino International Piano Competition, the San Marino International Piano Competition, and the Franz Liszt Piano Competition. In the same year, he won the San Marino International Piano Competition and the Franz Liszt Competition. In 2006, he played the lead role in a Swiss film titled "My Piano Concerto," in which he not only played the piano, but also demonstrated his talent for mathematics. After that, he steadily built up his career and made his CD debut on the Sony Classical label. He also released "Duende" (50-3021), a collection of Spanish and French works on the Claves label. Theo's parents left their native country during the communist era of the 1980s under the Chausescu regime and settled in Switzerland. Theo's only connection to Romania was his parents and their music. Cherishing his roots, Teo was greatly influenced by the music of great Romanian performers such as Dinu Lipatti and Radu Lupu, and he has concentrated the spirit that runs through his blood in this album, which is a tribute to his father, who passed away in 2018.I first heard the Romanian Rhapsody No. 1 at the Enescu Festival in Bucharest when I was a teenager. A few years later, I learned of the composer's own version for solo piano and immediately began practicing it, but I could not quite achieve the performance I had in mind because the arrangement is an extremely technical work. However, I practiced hard after that because I wanted to bring the music of Romania, my roots, to as many people as possible, and I became obsessed with this work.
