Description:
A live recording of the "Messiah" performed in Dresden in 2014 to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the birth of Saxon church composer Gottfried August Homilius (1714-1785), a pupil of J.S. Bach. The "Messiah" is a title of his "Messiah" and is recorded live in the "Messiah" concert hall. Despite its title, the "Messiah" does not depict the "life of Christ" as Handel did, but rather the text of the Passion, which was used in many places in Germany in the 18th century, and is considered a work for Good Friday services.
