MARINE, the artful Brussels post-punk funk band formed in Belgium around charismatic frontman MARC MARINE, released the single "LIFE IN REVERSE" in 1981, which became an international sensation. Their debut single "LIFE IN REVERSE" was released in April 1981 to critical acclaim in Belgium and the U.K., reaching #6 on the NME Indie Charts and earning them favor with THE POP GROUP, A CERTAIN RATIO, JAMES WHITE, FIRE Although the group was favorably compared to THE POP GROUP, A CERTAIN RATIO, JAMES WHITE, and FIRE ENGINES, and was considered the "Next Haircut 100," the group parted company in a London studio and most of the band members went on to form ALLEZ ALLEZ. The remaining members, MARC and PAUL DELNOY, formed the new MARINE and released two singles, but unfortunately never released an album. MARC LAGUNAForty years later, after an enthusiastic call from Klöpsküll, the band recorded the album with the help of like-minded friends in Brussels and Paris. They recorded six surprisingly authentic songs with jazz and soundtrack influences. This album is the band's first album, and features the main songs of MARINE, as well as new songs. The cover artwork is based on the sleeve design of the 1982 single "SAME BEAT".
