From US San Francisco, Bay Area rapper Fashawn's 2009 album "Boy Meets World" is now available in a long-awaited cassette edition to celebrate its 15th anniversary. The entire album is laced with soulful loops by producer Exile, on which Fashawn writes his own audio biography. Fashawn's audio biography is a collection of songs that delve into heavy themes such as his complicated feelings about his stepfathers ("I called them all daddy/even though they didn't have me") and the suicide of a friend, as well as his microphone banter with Exile on "Bo Jackson" and his attempts to break free from unrequited love on "Lupita. The Ecology" is a song about Exile's attempts to break free from his unrequited love. On "The Ecology," Exile's dramatic string samples over a "good boy from a rough place" struggle with his own struggles. Fashawn was only 20 years old at the time of release, but his lyricism had an intelligence and depth that transcended his age.Dirty Science Records and Coalmine Reissues have teamed up to bring the hip-hop classic "Boy Meets World" to cassette tape for the first time.
