Eye To Eye is a male-female AOR/pop duo consisting of Deborah Berg, a female singer from Seattle, USA, and Julian Marshall, a pianist from England. Eye To Eye" was produced by Gary Katz, known as the producer of Steely Dan, and Donald Fagen participated in their debut album "Eye To Eye" in 1982 and their second album "Shakespeare Stole My Baby" in 1983. The Wounded Bird version (released in 2002), which includes a coupling of the two albums, is being re-pressed. The single cut "Nice Girls" was a Top 40 hit on the U.S. singles chart. Eye To Eye" features Fagen backed by Jeff Porcaro (ds), Jim Keltner (ds), Chuck Rainey (b), Elliott Randall (g), and Dean Parks (g), all of whom are well known for their work with Steely Dan. On "On The Mend," Fagen's synth solo is a true "night fly. Shakespeare Stole My Baby," which includes the hit single "Lucky," features Larry Carlton (g) and Steve Lukather (g).The album offers even more variety than its predecessor, including "Falling For A Funny One," "Are You Listening?" and "T.W.A. Sari," in which both guitar maestros showcase their adult-oriented guitar playing, the funky "Jabberwokky," the electro-pop of "Tonight Insomnia" and more, the album is even more varied than its predecessor. The album is a reissue of two Steely Dan-related AOR items that have been particularly popular in recent years, as they were reissued on CD in Japan by Warner Music in the late 1990s and in 2016, but are now hard to find, including this Wounded Bird version. This is the first reissue in 18 years for Steely Dan fans.
