This third collection of orchestral works by Liesaguerre (1897-1974) includes a series of world premiere recordings. Among them are his 4th and 5th symphonies, which he once tried to discard but ended up keeping; the highly technical Concerto Symphony; and the familiar "Summer Rhapsody" with its folk melody, the 4th Symphony. The four works in this collection include his fourth and fifth symphonies, which he tried to discard but ended up keeping; his highly technical concerto symphony; and his familiar "Summer Rhapsody," which uses a folk melody. In the 1940s, Lysaguerre was known as a composer of ballet music and had little interest in the symphonic field. However, he may have tried to compose a "symphony" as a mere form, bringing various ideas and styles to this genre. The concerto symphony, with its neoclassical flavor, is adventurous and colorful.
