Robert Hunter, Grateful Dead lyricist and author of many classic songs, joined the Dead in 1967 and wrote many lyrics for the band until the Dead broke up, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Grateful Dead in 1994, and was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame with Jerry Garcia in 2015. Garcia, and was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame along with Jerry Garcia, the legendary lyricist.
