Called by Midlake's Eric Pulido, the supergroup BNQT (Banquet) brings together Alex Kapranos of Franz Ferdinand, Ben Bridewell of Band of Horses, Fran Healy of Travis, Jason Little of Grandaddy, and others. BNQT (Banquet). The concept was originally conceived while touring with Eric Pulido's 2013 release "Antiphon" as Midlake. I thought it would be a good idea to form a contrasting yet complementary group with artists I have shared the stage with or been friends with," said Eric Pulido. I think that's what art is all about.What it means to collaborate with people you love and respect," says Pulido, "is that you have created an environment in which you can collaborate with these friends. While it is true that all of the members of the group shared Pulido's views, they were so scattered around the world that most of the recording took place in Denton, Texas, or over the Internet. A year later, a few song ideas were demoed and turned into full recordings, resulting in the completion of the album. This album is full of many surprises, and the content is both familiar and appealing in its differentness.
