This 3-CD compilation of rare jazz bass tracks (38 tracks in total) was planned and selected by Tower Records and focuses on 15 other bass players. DISC 1 is a collection of Paul Chambers' Miles & Coltrane sessions. DISC 2 is a collection of Paul Chambers' own recordings of Bud Powell, Thelonious Monk, Art Pepper, Sonny Rollins, and others, as well as his own recordings of Miles Davis' "Marathon Sessions" and "Kind of Blue," John Coltrane's "Giant Steps" and "Blue Train," and other session recordings, DISC2 is a collection of session recordings by Paul Chambers on albums by Bud Powell, Thelonious Monk, Art Pepper, Sonny Rollins, and other jazz giants, as well as his own albums as a leader. DISC3 is a selection of tracks from Ray Brown, Scott Lafaro, Ron Carter, Charles Mingus, and many other great bass players.The contents of this album allow you to enjoy the multifaceted nature of the bass instrument, which not only plays the role of supporting the bottom, but also plays melodies, solos, and so on. The sound sources are mainly from the 50's to early 60's on famous jazz labels such as Blue Note, Prestige, Riverside, Columbia, Contemporary, and others. Jazz Bass from sleep to sleep!
