The ever-changing creator yeule, who weaves together classical masterpieces, hyper-modern internet culture, academic theory, and his own physical desires to create his own world and persona through music, has released his 4th album "Evangelic Girl is a Gun" from Ninja Tune. Yool has released his fourth album "Evangelic Girl is a Gun" from Ninja Tune. The album is a work of unbridled emotion that confronts the idea that self-destructive identity can burn up a postmodern canvas. As evidenced by the profile image created in collaboration with visual artist Vasso Vu and the worldview of the music video for the first single, shot by the aforementioned Neil Kragg, Yool explores the duality of darkness and his role as a "painter" in this work. The hypnotic melodies of the album Through the album's hypnotic melodies, Yule paints a portrait of a tormented artist trapped by idols, his ethereal vocals playing like an emotional strangulation over a dance beat. Influenced by Polish artist Zdzislaw Beksinski, Yule comments, "I wanted to honor my life as a painter with this album. For me, Beksinski paints the most meticulous and beautiful pictures of creatures crawling through quiet dystopian landscapes." Painting has the quality of reflecting one's emotions as a means of expression, both violent and tender. Moments of my life that pass in an instant are written down in paint, locked in time." In Evangelic Girl is a Gun, Yule puts her own cyborg twist on Bristol trip-hop and '90s gothic, with A.G. Cook, Chris Greatti, Mura Masa, Clams Casino, Fitnesse, and 2023's " Kin Leung, who was co-executive producer on softscars, serves as production designer. In addition, Yule's unprocessed vocals in this film, without the use of autotune, bring out the burning authenticity and roughness of the music.This shocking art style is a departure from his previous glitchy work, which he says he "wanted to put a raw, one-of-a-kind edge to the vocals" as a counterpoint to the rise of AI.
